Salvador, Bahia

Old Town Salvador

Over 500 years old, Salvador is the first colonial capital of Brazil, it is one of the the oldest in the country and is also known as Brazils capital of happiness. :D  It's supposedly known for it's cuisine, although nothing in particular stood out to me, and I think other cities in Brazil (São Paulo, Rio e Curitiba) are better in the "food" department :) All the boys in my life would appreciate this country and their food! Salvador needs to step it up! Or maybe I am just not accustomed to the flavors... Haha!

Baía de Todos os Santos - All Saints Bay

My first ever lighthouse :)

!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Preparing for the morning ... right next to the lighthouse

Windy!

Porto da Barra Beach

Farol da Barra Lighthouse <3

Old Town Salvador - Historic Center

Escalador Lacerda (on the left) divides the Cidade Alta (Upper Town) from the Cidade Baixa (Lower Town) it's the first elevator built in Brazil and has connected the two sections  since 1873. Wish I had better photos of it!

Overlook next to Elevador Lacerda ... taken right before a little Moleki boy decided to assault me.

City streets

Campo Grande Square

I found a model!

Bahian statues in the Pousada we stayed in ... resemble the way women dress up in Salvador

Um cachorro!

MY FAVE. We also were sold everything and anything while we took pictures and tried to enjoy the beauty of the city. Rather overwhelming, slightly annoying :) But everyone is just trying to make a living!

More of Barra Beach

 Que linda...

Entrance to a store in the streets of Salvador!

Michael Jackson's music video "They Don't Really Care About Us" was filmed right here on THIS street!!!!

In this doorway he stood....

... and up on the balcony he rocked it out. The people of Bahia are proud of it! It's a super cool video and EVERYONE should watch it! So fun we were able to see this street!!!

Outside a local African souvenir shop

DEVILS.... YEAH! ASU ASU ASU! Just showing support in Bahia, nbd.

A headdress worn in a performance we attended...his character symbolizes illness.

PRAIA DO FORTE

A whole different experience. Beautiful beaches, and beautiful people.

The entrance to Iberostar Resort :)

Inside the hotel

Straight to the bar we go! All inclusive comida e bebidas alllll day long! Yes, please.

Beginning of a GREAT beach vacation!

On our way to our room!

View from our balcony :)

Time to run!

This is what I saw...

Beaches were a lil strange to run on as the water hit the sand differently and creates a slant/slope. :/ Still amazing tho, not complaining!

HMMMM... So.... RUN this way? Don't walk? LOL

VAI SISTER VAI!

Pure bliss. In Heaven.

Yes the beach is right there!

Heaven had an angel!!!

Animação é MUITO BOM!!!!!

Here we had just competed in a kayak race (which yes, Demi and I did not win hahaha) and after every "game" they do at the pool they sing this crazy song... that contains the lyrics "Animação é muito bom!" It's awesomley hilarious and we met amazing people!!!

Dad and Mimi stunting!

Pool in the sunset :)

Who WOULDN'T want their photo taken  here? It's so cool!!!!

Sisters in Salvador!!!! Just chillin at the beach... we stayed two extra days. THANK HEAVENS! Maybe I should have taken the job I was offered here? HA! I really was offered one... pretty cool.

Ok, where to start... at this hotel they  have random crazy actors that do the funniest things throughtout the day!!! This was around 130-300pm in the afternoon... Tarzan and Jane came out of nowhere and inspected and tortured everyone. Tarzan didn't understand my iphone and how it was playing music so he tried to SMASH IT with his big club!

Tormenting the Spaniards! They were super fun and we did our best to speak to them in Spanish!

At one point they poured people coconuts all over themselves....

To the left you will see Jane going into the dining room thru the window! YES! Do it Jane!

Bahahahaha, they are so funny.

Now Tarzan and Jane are tormenting the "Coco Verdes" man... real coconuts they serve you! As many as you want all day!

I found another model while I was in Salvador!

The beginning of the planks...

Last day in paradise!!!

Floating Plank

Going out at night... there were shows at the hotel to watch (they have a total of 14 different ones they put on! We met a few of the dancers and Entertainment Director Paulo! All amazing people.)

Varty Party Planking! We were bored... waiting for  bus to take us to the airport... yes we have one with our dad too... but this is off my iphone! BAHAHAHA. Love my family!
